L.A. Guns, a staple in the hard rock genre, is set to release their 15th studio album, Leopard Skin, on April 4, 2025, via Cleopatra Records. This album marks a significant milestone as it indicates the band’s enduring presence in the music industry since their inception nearly 40 years ago. The album’s first single, “Taste It,” is already generating buzz. The single, described as a bluesy hard rock track, taps into the classic rock vibe, boasting a clean and uncompressed production that allows the band’s skillful performances to shine. With guitarist Tracii Guns providing a crisp riff foundation and Phil Lewis delivering commanding vocals, the track evokes the feeling of Bon Scott-era AC/DC. The accompanying Jason Wisch-directed music video for “Taste It” is available on various digital platforms, providing fans a visual treat to complement the auditory experience.

The album, Leopard Skin, carries a significant resonance as it symbolizes the band’s unchanging essence while showcasing their musical diversity, akin to the saying, “a leopard never changes its spots.” Tracii Guns humorously highlights this in his description of the band’s musical journey, stating that, even though the band maintains its core identity, its members bring a unique touch to their sound, creating a rich mosaic of sonic experiences. The new album reconnects the lineup from previous records, featuring Tracii Guns, Phil Lewis, Johnny Martin on bass, guitarist Ace Von Johnson, and studio drummer Adam Hamilton. This consistency in the band’s lineup over recent records has undoubtedly contributed to solidifying their distinctive sound, capturing classic rock and integrating a funky edge.

L.A. Guns will support the album’s release with an extensive US tour, including a kick-off at the Monsters of Rock Cruise in March, before embarking on a string of concert dates across the United States from April through to the summer. Fans can expect to feel the band’s electric energy live, making it a must-see event for hard rock enthusiasts. The tour underscores the band’s commitment to staying engaged with their audience and showcasing their ever-evolving musical artistry.
