Morrissey, the iconic British singer and former frontman of The Smiths, recently underwent a major disruption in his North American tour due to health concerns. He was hospitalized after suffering a severe sinusitis attack, leading to the postponement of two scheduled concerts in San Diego and Rancho Mirage, California. This unexpected health issue affected fans who had anticipated his performances, as Morrissey has been a prominent figure in the music industry for decades with a dedicated following. Nevertheless, the artist has announced plans to resume his tour, emphasizing that the postponed shows will be rescheduled, with new dates set for October 2025 in Rancho Mirage and January 2026 in San Diego.

Despite being 65 years old, Morrissey shows no sign of slowing down his musical career. His tour, originally set to continue in Tucson, Arizona, is part of a broader itinerary that includes several other cities across the United States, and later, international dates. Having already kicked off the tour in late April with performances in Reno, Fresno, and Bakersfield, Morrissey had to take a temporary hiatus due to his health scare. Fans can look forward to his return as he resumes performing starting May 5th in Tucson, Arizona.

Morrissey's tour is not the only thing on his agenda; he is also embroiled in an ongoing dispute with Capitol Records over the release of his album “Bonfire of Teenagers.” The album, recorded in 2020 and 2021 with high-profile collaborators such as Miley Cyrus and Red Hot Chili Peppers' members Chad Smith and Flea, remains unreleased due to alleged contractual disputes. Morrissey has claimed that Capitol Records has been unwilling to release it unless purchased back at a high price. Despite these challenges, he has managed to regain the rights to his album, though he has yet to announce an official release date.

In addition to “Bonfire of Teenagers,” Morrissey has completed another album titled “Without Music the World Dies.” Although he has debuted some tracks during live performances, the album has not seen an official launch. This delay in releasing new music is consistent with Morrissey's controversial stance on free speech, which he claims has impacted his ability to put out new tracks. The controversies surrounding his political views have only heightened the intrigue surrounding his forthcoming projects.

As Morrissey looks ahead to completing his North American tour, he also has plans to visit the UK and Europe. The European leg of his tour will bring him to cities such as Dublin, Glasgow, and Manchester, with additional performances across various countries including Spain, France, Germany, and Italy. These concerts are expected to feature not only his newer material but also classics from his vast repertoire, including songs from his time with The Smiths.
