Renowned guitarist Jimmy Page and prolific rock band The Black Crowes are set to delight music enthusiasts again with their expanded release of the iconic album Live at the Greek. Originally launched in 2000, this live album captured the magic from their 1999 performances at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Now, the reissue offers fans something extra: 16 previously unreleased tracks, promising a fresh audio experience. The expanded edition of Live at the Greek not only includes reimagined and remastered renditions of the original recordings but also features soundcheck versions, adding layers of depth to this already rich collaboration. A standout feature of this commemorative release is an unearthed soundcheck performance of “The Lemon Song” by Led Zeppelin, injecting new life into well-known classics.

The upcoming release, scheduled for March 14, showcases the seamless synergy between Page and The Black Crowes. From the original concert playlist, the album also adds tracks like “Custard Pie,” “You Shook Me,” and “Ten Years Gone” captured during soundchecks, and a piece titled “Jam,” co-written by Page and The Black Crowes' Rich Robinson. Such pieces reveal the raw and dynamic energy of Page's riffs united with the soulful Southern rock vibes of The Black Crowes. Chris Robinson, the band's frontman, reflects on this new edition, stating that it encapsulates a powerful, electric, and mystical experience reminiscent of their legendary collaboration with Page. “Hail, hail rock ‘n roll!” he exclaims, underscoring the energy infused into these recordings.

Listeners familiar with the album can anticipate an immersive journey revisiting this collection, which charts a groundbreaking union of Page's rock ancestry with The Black Crowes' rhythmic prowess. The original album concentrated heavily on Led Zeppelin staples, rendering the absence of Crowes' inputs partly due to contractual intricacies. This expanded reissue amends that, including The Black Crowes originals such as “Remedy” and “Wiser Time.”

In celebrating this reissue, many of the tracks are presented on vinyl for the first time, with a comprehensive 6-LP box set and a condensed 2-LP version available for aficionados. Led Zeppelin enthusiasts and Black Crowes admirers alike will find this package a valuable addition, offering a robust taste of that acclaimed 1999 performance at the Greek, and even that year’s Jones Beach Theater set. These recordings not only capture the spirit of rock history but also showcase a rare convergence of musical brilliance. Demand for the album is evident, as pre-orders have already commenced, inviting fans to indulge in this nostalgically enriched experience.
