Kid Rock’s touring music festival Rock the Country has canceled at least one major 2026 stop following the withdrawal of several high profile artists from the lineup, according to multiple published reports. The canceled dates were scheduled to take place in Anderson County, South Carolina, and were officially pulled in early February 2026.

Local officials confirmed that the two day festival, originally set for July 25 and July 26, 2026, at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center, would not move forward. No single reason was cited in the official cancellation notice, though the decision followed a rapid collapse of the event’s advertised lineup.

Artist exits preceded the cancellation

In the weeks leading up to the announcement, several artists removed themselves from the Rock the Country bill. Shinedown publicly announced their withdrawal, stating that their goal as a band was to unite audiences and that they did not feel participation aligned with that mission.

Additional artists including Creed, Ludacris, Morgan Wade, and Carter Faith were also reported to have exited the lineup or were removed from promotional materials prior to the cancellation.

The Anderson dates had originally been promoted as a marquee stop featuring Kid Rock and Jason Aldean as headliners, alongside a mix of rock, country, and hip hop acts.

Local officials confirm festival will not return in 2026

Anderson County officials acknowledged disappointment over the loss of the event, noting that prior Rock the Country festivals brought significant tourism and revenue to the region. County administrators said they were informed of the cancellation by festival organizers and that the decision was not made by the county itself.

Officials declined to speculate publicly on the internal reasons behind the collapse of the South Carolina dates, but confirmed that the festival would not be rescheduled for 2026.

Political scrutiny and public reaction

While Rock the Country has been promoted as a music focused event, it has drawn increased attention due to perceived political associations involving some of its performers, including Kid Rock, who has been vocal in his political views. Several artists who exited the lineup referenced concerns about division, though organizers did not formally attribute the cancellation to political factors.

Despite the Anderson County cancellation, other Rock the Country dates remain listed for 2026 in states including Texas, Georgia, South Dakota, Kentucky, Michigan, Florida, and New York. Organizers have not indicated whether additional dates could be affected.

Uncertainty surrounding the festival’s future

The cancellation of the South Carolina stop marks the most significant disruption to the Rock the Country tour since its launch. Neither Kid Rock nor festival organizers have issued a comprehensive statement addressing the artist withdrawals or outlining the long term future of the event.

For now, the Anderson County cancellation stands as a visible setback for the festival’s 2026 plans, raising questions about whether remaining dates will proceed as scheduled.
