Chelsea Wolfe, Death Cab for Cutie, and more are featured on the compilation Good Music To Lift Los Angeles, a new initiative aiming to support wildfire recovery efforts in Los Angeles. This ambitious project features a substantial collection of 90 songs from a diverse array of artists like R.E.M., Tenacious D, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, and TV on the Radio. Available for purchase for just 24 hours on Bandcamp, this compilation is expected to create a significant impact. The proceeds will be directed exclusively towards the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund and the LA Regional Food Bank, providing much needed financial support to the affected communities.

The participating artists represent an extensive spectrum of indie and alternative music, contributing a wide variety of songs including unreleased tracks, demos, and live performances. In addition to Chelsea Wolfe and Death Cab for Cutie, the compilation also includes contributions from bands such as Soccer Mommy, Interpol, and the War on Drugs, amongst others. These artists have generously donated their works in a commendable display of solidarity and commitment to a noble cause, demonstrating the unifying power of music in times of adversity.

Good Music to Lift Los Angeles benefits from a rich musical tapestry, further enhanced by captivating cover art created by Cleon Peterson, an Altadena-based artist whose own home was tragically lost to the Eaton Fire. The compilation's potency is amplified by timing the release with Bandcamp's initiative to donate its share of sales to MusiCares, echoing a holistic approach to supporting the music industry and its extended community. The entire endeavor is a collaborative effort involving various artist management entities such as Brilliant Corners Artist Management, Dave Eggers, and Grandstand Media, who joined forces to materialize this urgent support plan.

While the compilation will only be available for a single day, its potential impact promises lasting benefits for the communities in need. As those involved come together around this cause, the initiative highlights the collective strength that the arts sector possesses when mobilized effectively. This effort exemplifies the enduring impact that artists can have, both culturally and socio-economically, in times when communities face unforeseen challenges such as these devastating wildfires.
