Mumford & Sons, the celebrated folk-rock band, is poised to make a grand return with their first album in seven years, titled *Rushmere*. Set to be released on March 28, 2025, this new project marks a significant moment for the band as it represents their first release as a trio following the departure of banjoist Winston Marshall in 2021. The album's first single is eagerly anticipated by fans and will drop on January 17, an event that aligns with a strategic marketing plan to rejuvenate their audience's interest and engagement. This album follows 2018’s *Delta*, offering refreshed creative directions while staying true to their roots.

The creation of *Rushmere* comes on the heels of significant developments in the band members' individual careers. Frontman Marcus Mumford ventured into solo territory with his self-titled album in 2022, before reuniting with fellow bandmates Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane. The process of drawing on external experiences has added new texture and depth to the album, which is co-produced by renowned record producer Dave Cobb. Known for his work with artists such as Brandi Carlile and Chris Stapleton, Cobb brings a blend of classic and modern influences that complement Mumford & Sons' signature sound.

Winston Marshall’s departure impacted the band both musically and personally. Marshall chose to leave after publicly endorsing a book by controversial journalist Andy Ngo, a decision that drew backlash and prompted introspective shifts within the group. This transition, however, has ushered in a newfound dynamic among the remaining members, enabling them to explore new creative horizons. The band’s previous collaborations also highlight their evolving musical interests; their 2024 single “Good People,” featuring Pharrell Williams, showcased their ability to seamlessly blend genres and styles.

*Rushmere* is poised to deliver an array of new musical experiences for old fans and newcomers alike. With ten tracks, the album features offerings such as “Malibu,” “Caroline,” the title track “Rushmere,” and a collaboration with vocalist Madison Cunningham on the song “Blood On The Page.” The single “RUSHMERE,” set to debut on January 17, will offer the first glimpse into the collective artistic vision shaped by the trio's dynamic and diversified influences. Each track promises to reveal the depth and range the band has developed over the years, signaling a fresh yet familiar sound.

The band is keen to emphasize that *Rushmere* is more than just a collection of songs. It embodies their journey over the past several years, capturing the emotions and experiences they have accumulated both together and independently. As Marcus Mumford explains, the group took their time to ensure that this record was not only meaningful but musically compelling. They aimed to create a project that pays homage to their history while marking a path forward—one that resonates with their faithful followers and attracts a new generation of listeners.
