Miley Cyrus has stirred excitement in the music industry with the release of two tracks from her upcoming album, Something Beautiful. Cyrus shared a pair of songs off of the new album—specifically “Prelude” and the title track “Something Beautiful”. Released on March 31, these songs are being described as an innovative fusion, intertwining her pop-rock roots with new psychedelic and cinematic elements. The singer's creative exploration is complemented with rich visuals, offering a hint of the thematic depth and visual style that fans can anticipate from the upcoming visual album.

The track “Prelude” is particularly intriguing, serving as an atmospheric opening to the album. It marries orchestral, psychedelic arpeggios with widescreen synths while Cyrus delivers thought-provoking spoken-word poetry. The lyrics ponder existential themes and the nature of beauty, interspersed with visuals that enhance the listening experience. Cyrus’s spoken words in the video, such as “Like when following an image from a train, your eyes can’t keep the passing landscapes from being swallowed into endless distance,” create a philosophical meditation set against an eclectic soundscape. Speaking to the album's thematic ambitions, Cyrus has likened it to being as grand and conceptual as Pink Floyd's The Wall, albeit injected with her unique pop and fashion sensibilities.

Something Beautiful marks Cyrus's ninth studio album, set to be released on May 30, 2025, and it promises to offer a unique pop opera experience. Described by Cyrus as a “one-of-a-kind pop opera,” the album is set to be a visual exploration through both music and film. With 13 new tracks, this album serves as a follow-up to her 2023 project, Endless Summer Vacation. The visual album will further enhance the artistic endeavor, presenting a cinematic experience that ties the auditory with the visual, providing fans with an immersive exploration of Cyrus’s artistic vision.
